How much does wedding videography cost?
Wedding videographers in Gloucestershire’s charges vary greatly and will depend on a number of things. Firstly the years of experience will have a significant impact on the amount that they charge. I have been in the industry for over 14 years and I have learnt a great deal about various types of weddings and added extras that couples like to include for their special day. From live harpists to singing waiters, from indoor extravagant abbey weddings to low-key outdoor weddings in a wood. All of these require various different uses of sound and adaptation in order to capture the best video and audio on the day.
Wedding videographer costs can also vary based on the time spent at the wedding whether you have requested a full feature-length video and/ or a highlights video. You may also have asked for some added extras such as messages from your guests. As you can see from my prices page I keep my packages nice and simple and have 4 various packages based on how long I’m with you and also whether you would like any added extras.
Why are wedding videographers so expensive?
Why are wedding videographers so expensive? If you broke down the number of hours of preparation before your big day, which involves charging batteries, ensuring all memory cards are clear, and maintaining cameras and sound kit, then the number of hours with you on your big day followed by the number of hours backing up your footage, then editing and finally uploading to your online gallery and personalised USB stick, you wouldn’t feel that it is so expensive.
You also must consider the cost of the equipment involved in order to produce the highest quality video, alongside the software to edit and the cost of hard drives and cloud storage. If a videographer is very cheap, you must question why? What are they cutting back on?
What does a wedding videographer do?
In my opinion, a wedding videographer should be there to capture all of your special day in a fly-on-the-wall style, being as discreet as possible. As I am also a wedding photographer I appreciate that the photographer needs to take the lead on the day as too many chiefs will not end well! I, therefore, let the photographer know that I’ll work around them and always reassure them that they can ask me to move out of the way at any time, should I be in their shots.
As a videographer, it is my responsibility to make sure that I include all of the special tender moments throughout the day, from the bride seeing her flowers for the first time, to the first glimpse of each other on the aisle. I also make sure that I capture all of the audio in the ceremony and the speeches for the feature-length video and for snippets for the highlights. This will involve me popping a mic or two on the speakers, but again I am as discreet as possible. After the wedding, I will then edit all of the footage into an hour-long feature length if that’s what you’ve asked for and also a 10 minutes highlights reel. This video will be sent to you through a google drive link for you to check your song choices. Once all is signed off I will then put your video on a personalised USB stick as a keepsake.
